MEET THE OWNER & STYLIST
Hi, I’m Jacqui... the heart and hands behind Salon 5 Sixty.
I grew up in Casino, moved to the Gold Coast on my own at 15 years old to pursue my career, and landed myself an apprenticeship in a high-end salon on Chevron Island.
After 8 years of a very fast paced life, I longed to get back to my grass roots and made the decision to leave the city and move back to the Northern Rivers. Of course, this turned out to be the best decision of my life, as not long after I met my now amazing husband and soulmate Pepe and his three beautiful children. It was love at first sight for me and an instant family, I just knew that we would be together forever.
OUR STORY
Two years after meeting Pepe, I fell pregnant with our first-born and knew it was time to start my own business to give myself both stability and flexibility.
I did my Cert III in business and set up a mobile hair salon and began strengthening my clientele. When I fell pregnant with our second child, we began searching for a bigger home and our dream property – here at number 560!
Now many years later (and with an even bigger family – we have eight children – yes EIGHT!) this wonderful property is not only our family home, but our hair salon and farm, with my husband’s Microgreen business Five Sixty Farms flourishing.
The NEXT GENERATION
Our oldest daughter Paean is also passionate about the industry, and her creativity and talent means, she now comes along with me to weddings and is by my side helping out around the salon at any given chance.
Together we make a great team, we have been doing weddings together since she was about 11, she is an absolute master curler and gives the BEST head massage!
It hasn’t always been easy. In 2022 we lost everything to the 28th of February floods. We lost all our home contents and both businesses were destroyed.
However, thanks to the support of the community, we are back open, even better than before with strength and love in our hearts from the community.
